Discarded and broken jewelry recycled to give it a new life of whimsy, in limited edition jewelry made to be loved. Many times, I source and disassemble old jewelry that I think has promising elements to it. Usually, it’s pieces that people have given to me, or gave to my grandmother, for the select purpose of reusing it for new things. Sometimes, however, I will buy bulk discarded jewelry, or bulk supplies (pendants, beads, etc.) from people who have stocked up, but don’t want it any more.
This is part of a new mix-and-match concept I came up with last year, using vintage clip-on earrings. I personally, find clip-ons to be unecessarily painful. )Screw-on earrings can stay on just fine without hurting anyone.) But clip-on earrings were so popular for a long time, and when I go through the boxes of discarded vintage jewelry that get sent to me, I find a lot of them. Many, missing their match too. But I finally found way to use them!
With this mix-and-match concept, you take one of the clip-on pendants, and you clip it onto a necklace. You take a velvet choker necklace (I also offer chain necklaces for this, see here), and clip on a pendant. Then, when you want a new choker, just switch out the pendant! (Or switch out the necklace base).
Please note, you buy each piece separately. So, a velvet choker base does not include any pendant, and a pendant does not include a choker base. Each base is $20, and each base is $5.
